The concept of giving, or tithing (giving a tenth), is a hotly debated topic, both inside the church and out. So, at Piercing Faith we try to keep things simple and rely on what the Bible says about giving.

• We believe that giving is done out of a heart of thanksgiving, appreciation for all that God has done for us and continues to do in our lives

• 2 Corinthians 9:7 encourages us to give from the heart

• “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver”

• When we give, we are not only saying that we trust God with our money and trust Him to provide and to take care of us, but we also recognize that all good things originate from Him

• Giving illustrates our awareness that He is our sole provider--not a job, an investment, or our ability to earn an income
